| Antiseismic Know-how of the company |
| |
| Pi-Systems has a 25 year history, great experience and know-how, in the architectural and building sector of antiseismic structures.
Our know-how is mainly based upon:
All the above have been demonstrated in the international trade fairs, CEBIT and BAUMA.

| About our antiseismic software |
 |
Since the production of the first static software package «STATIKA» (1984), which featured a full graphics working environment ,with simultaneous visualization of the imported data, till the new-modern StereoSTATIKA (2003), pi-Systems has been established in the Greek market as the technical software company that helped change the way of thinking and acting of the Greek engineers.
In 2006 our software package was selected as an educational tool to be implemented in all technical level education institutes of Cyprus.
|
 |
With stereoSTATIKA , the movement of a structure under the influence of an earthquake is visualized in real time and the reinforcement bars are displayed in 3D, showing every construction detail under the concrete. The antiseismic software of pi-Systems has already been placed on 3500 working posts in Greece, Cyprus and Albania, countries of intense seismic activity.
In 2006 our software package was selected as an educational tool to be implemented in all technical level education institutes of Cyprus.

| Publications about Antiseismic structures |
 |
The writing of books about earthquake resistant, reinforced concrete structures has started in 1974, by the president of the company and civil engineer, Apostolos Konstantinides. With the publication of the book which was titled "Pre-stressed concrete calculations".
This was then followed (1975, 1976, and 1978) by three new volumes titled «Reinforced concrete applications which sold more than 20000 copies each, becoming a best seller. These books were read by merely every engineer of that time. |
| In 1994, the three volumes titled 'reinforced concrete application' are reprinted in order to include all regulations changes and research findings since the last production. These new volumes have sold more than 12000 each, since today. |
 |
In 1999, 6 new educational books were written, by order of the Greek ministry of education, designed to be used in the middle level technical institutes of Greece. The publication of these books was based upon innovative software used in the design and construction phase of reinforced concrete structures. The books also contained images rendered by the company's rendering and virtual reality software. |
| Industrilized earthquake-resistant applications |
| A) ANTISEISMIC THORACES |
 |
In 1996, a new company was established by the share holders of pi-Systems, with the aim of research and industrial implementation of innovative antiseismic technology. The goal of this company was the design of automatic machines that would perform the 3D formation of stirrups made of steel (stirrup machines), and the industrial production of many type of stirrups sections, non-ending, multi-shape and spiral stirrups (Antiseismic Thorax) for the reinforcement of all kinds of columns, beams, shear walls and foundation structural elements.
Until today thousands of buildings have been constructed with Antiseismic Thorax, which have demonstrated an excellent antiseismic behavior (as been proved during the destructive earthquake of the 20th September 1999) |
In 1999, the definite advantage of antiseismic thoraces was certified experimentally by the reinforced concrete laboratory of the National Technical University of Athens. By 2000 it had been approved by the Greek Antiseismic Regulation authority, with a significantly propitious aperture coefficient.
In 2000, the production rights for Greece were transferred over to BITROS group.
During the period of time that the utilization of the Antiseismic Thoraces was being held by pi-SYSTEMS, plenty of educational seminars for the Antiseismic Regulation were conducted in the Technical Champers of Greece, which were a huge success. |
| B) CELLULAR STIRRUPS |
 |
Noticing that the use of composite materials for the construction of a building is not advancing fast enough, the company took a step forward by developing cellular stirrups models made out of industrialized steel (read more about Cellular Stirrups). |
| Total management system (PANOPLIA) |
| PANOPLIA is a complete management system for the production, customization and design of reinforced concrete buildings, as well as for the quantity surveying and ordering process of all materials (reinforcement bars and concrete, insulation, stairs etc.) required. |
|

|
|
PANOPLIA utilizes the latest software technology in order to simplify the overall construction process and thus minimize the time and the resources needed. It offers advanced design software tools to all engineers, construction managers, building contractors and materials suppliers.
In 2006 the company signed a cooperation contract with the steel-making company SIDENOR for supporting the industrialized stirrups SIDEFOR.
In 2007 another cooperation contract was signed this time with "Hellenic HALYVOURGIA" for supporting their industrialized stirrups ForSTEEL in our software.
What is more, the company signed preliminary agreements with 4 of the biggest reinforcement steel suppliers in Greece, concerning the implementation of pi-Systems electronic ordering system. |
